On the engine of fashion. 2106 the G-222 or 37.3701 generators representing three-phase twelve-polar synchronous electrical machines with the built-in small-sized integrated regulator of tension can be installed. The generator 37.3701 has practically the same design, as G-222, and differs only in data of windings of a rotor and the stator, a design of the regulator of tension and the vypryamitelny block in which three diodes in an excitement winding power-supply circuit are in addition installed. Control checks of the G-222 (37.3701) generator
At the stand G-222 and 37.3701 generators check the same as the generator 58.3701 (see. "Electric equipment of the car of fashion. 21261-020"), but taking into account distinctions in technical characteristics of these generators.
Check of the regulator of tension
The small-sized integrated regulator of tension like Ya-112V is built in the G-222 generator. It represents non-demountable unregulated knot and is located on a cover from contact rings of the generator.
The principle of operation of the regulator consists in continuous automatic change of current of excitement of the generator so that tension of the generator was supported in the set limits at change of frequency of rotation and current of loading of the generator.
Check of the regulator on the car
The voltmeter of a direct current with a scale to 15–30 V, an accuracy class not lower than 1,0 is necessary for check.
In 15 min. operation of the engine at an average frequency of rotation at the included headlights measure tension between the 30 and weight plugs (case) of the generator. Tension has to be in limits 13,5-14,6 B at a temperature of air and the generator (25±10) °C.
At a temperature higher or lower tension can be respectively slightly lower or above (on 0,2-0,3 B).
If the systematic nedozaryadka or a recharge of the rechargeable battery is observed and adjustable tension does not keep within the specified limits, replace the regulator of tension.

The Ya-112V regulator removed from the G-222 generator is checked according to the scheme provided on fig. 7.29.
Between conclusions "Ш" and "In" the regulator connect the 1-3 W lamp (12 V). To conclusions of "B", "In" and attach a source of a direct current to "weight" (the metal basis of the regulator) at first of 12 V, and then of 15-16 V.
If the regulator is serviceable, then in the first case the lamp has to burn, in the second – to die away.
If the lamp does not burn in both cases, then in the regulator internal break and if burns in both cases – breakdown. Tension regulator is not subject to repair.

Tension regulators used in the generator 37.3701 on the car check the same as the Ya-112V regulator of the G-222 generator. An inspection of the removed regulators is carried out according to the schemes shown in fig. 7.30. The same procedure for test, as for the Ya-112V regulator.
Check of diodes of the vypryamitelny block
The serviceable diode passes current only in one direction, faulty — can not pass current (break of a chain) at all or to pass current in both directions (short circuit).
In case of damage of one of diodes of the vypryamitelny block replace all vypryamitelny block.

Short circuit of diodes can be checked an ohmmeter or by means of a lamp (25–40 W) and the rechargeable battery, as shown in fig. 7.31, without removing the generator from the car, previously having disconnected wires from the rechargeable battery and the generator.

       NOTE
For the purpose of simplification of fastening of details of the vypryamitelny block three diodes have on the plus case of the straightened tension. These positive diodes are also pressed in one plate of the vypryamitelny block. Other three negative diodes, have on the minus case of the straightened tension and are pressed in other plate of the vypryamitelny block.

At first check whether there is no short circuit at the same time in "positive" and "negative" diodes. For this purpose "plus" the rechargeable battery through a lamp connect to a clip "30", and "minus" — to the generator case (see fig. 7.31, a). If the lamp burns, then "negative" and "positive" diodes have short circuit.
Short circuit of "negative" diodes can be checked, having connected battery "plus" through a lamp to a conclusion of a zero wire of a winding of the stator, and "minus" — to the generator case (see fig. 7.31, b).
Burning of a lamp means short circuit in one or several "negative" diodes. Consider that in this case burning of a lamp can be caused by short circuit of rounds of a winding of the stator on the generator case. However such malfunction meets less than short circuit of diodes.
For check of short circuit in "positive" plus diodes of the battery through a lamp connect to a clip "30", and "minus" — to a conclusion of a zero wire of a winding of the stator (see fig. 7.31, c). Burning of a lamp will indicate short circuit of one or several "positive" diodes.
The break in diodes without dismantling of the generator can be found only indirectly during check of the generator at the stand on considerable decrease (for 20–30%) return current in comparison with nominal. If windings of the generator are serviceable, and in diodes there is no short circuit, current of return decreases because of break in diodes.
Dismantling and assembly of the generator
1. Mark in any way a relative positioning of covers 1, 23 and the stator 27 (see fig. 7.26).

2. Unscrew screws of fastening and remove a casing of 1 (fig. 7.32) assembled with the regulator 2, the basis 3 and the brush holder 4.
3. Remove the condenser 23, having unscrewed the screw of its fastening and having disconnected a wire from a contact bolt 10.
4. Turn off nuts of coupling bolts 18 and uncover the 15th generator together with a rotor 12.
5. Clamp a rotor in a vice, turn off a nut of fastening of a pulley 16 and a stripper remove a pulley from a rotor shaft. Take out from a groove on a shaft neck a segment spline and uncover 15 together with the bearing 19.
6. Remove the remote plug 13 from a rotor shaft.
7. Turn off nuts of the screws connecting tips of gates to stator winding conclusions, take out the 7th plug of a zero wire from a block and take the stator 11 of a cover of the 6th generator.
8. Turn off a nut of a contact bolt 10 and remove the vypryamitelny block 9 from a cover 6.
Collect the generator upside-down taking into account the following:
not coaxiality of openings in paws of covers of the generator has to be no more than 0,4 mm therefore at assembly carefully combine earlier applied on covers and the stator of a tag or insert into these openings special caliber (as caliber it is possible to use a bolt of the lower fastening of the generator to an engine arm);
the conic spring washer of a nut of fastening of a pulley by the convex party has to be turned to a nut. Moment of an inhaling of a nut of a pulley of 45-72 N · m (4,5–7,2 kgfs · м).
Check of a winding of excitement of a rotor and stator
The winding of excitement of a rotor and the stator of G-222 and 37.3701 generators are checked the same as above for the generator 58.3701 is described (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment").
Replacement of the brush holder
If brushes wore out and act from the brush holder less than on 5 mm, replace the brush holder with brushes.
Remove the brush holder, as when dismantling the generator (see above); establish upside-down, trying not to damage brushes about sharp edges of contact rings of a rotor.
Before installation of the brush holder blow the place of its installation to remove coal dust.
Replacement of the bearing of a rotor from the drive
1. To take the faulty bearing 19 of a cover 15 (see fig. 7.32), turn off the nuts of screws which are pulling together washers of the 14 and 17 fastening of the bearing then remove washers with screws and on a manual press to a vypressuyta the bearing.

       NOTE
If nuts do not turn away (the ends of screws of a raskernena), saw round the ends of screws.

2. Press the bearing in a cover on the press, putting effort to its external ring.

       PREVENTION
Do not put effort at a bearing press fitting to an internal ring, otherwise it will be inevitably damaged.

3. Clamp the bearing between two washers which are pulled together with screws with nuts. Having tightened nuts, you raskernit the ends of screws.

       NOTE
It is possible to install the new bearing in a generator cover only if the opening for the bearing is not damaged. Diameter of an opening has to be 41,967–41,992 mm. If the opening has bigger diameter or is deformed, replace a cover.

On the engine of fashion. 2106 establish a starter of 35.3708 (fig. 7.33). In need of it it is possible to replace with ST-221 starter differing in a design of collector knot and obmotochny data, but with the same adjusting and connecting sizes.
The starter of type 35.3708 is the electric motor of a direct current of the mixed excitement which is switched on by the electromagnetic traction relay.
Four poles 34 with excitement windings, three of which seriyesny (consecutive) and one shuntovy (parallel), are fixed in the case 35 (see fig. 7.33). The case and covers 12 and 24 are pulled together among themselves with two bolts 29. On a shaft of 1 anchor the face collector 32 is established. The shaft of an anchor rotates in the ceramic-metal plugs 2 and 26 pressed in covers 12 and 24.
On spiral vents of the forward end of a shaft of an anchor the drive with a gear wheel 4 and the roller obgonny coupling is installed. The gear wheel 4 via the lever 11 is entered into gearing with a gear wreath of a flywheel by the dvukhobmotochny traction relay.

The scheme of connections of a starter is shown in fig. 7.34. At inclusion of a starter tension from the rechargeable battery moves on the windings of the traction relay of a starter (involving and holding). After short circuit of contacts of the traction relay the involving winding is disconnected.

Possible malfunctions of a starter, their reason and methods of elimination practically the same, as for a starter 421.3708 engines of fashion. 331 (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment"). The repeated operation and shutdown of the traction relay caused by break or short circuit in the holding relay winding can be specific malfunction of a starter 35.3708.
Control checks of a starter
Control inspections at the stand are carried out the same as for a starter 421.3708 331 (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment"). Difference only in the removed characteristics:
when checking working capacity control inclusions carry out at the brake moments 2; 6 and 10 N · m (0,2; 0,6 and 1 kgfs · l);
at test on the mode of full braking current has to be no more than 550 And, voltage no more than 7 V, the brake moment not less than 13,7 N · m (1,4 kgfs · l);
at test on the idling mode the consumed current has to be 60 A, with a frequency of rotation of an anchor (5000±1000) min.-1 and tension on plugs of a starter 11,5-12 B;
when checking the traction relay laying thickness between a restrictive ring and a gear wheel has to be 12,8 mm, and tension of turning on of the relay – no more than 9 Century.
Dismantling of a starter
1. Turn off a nut of the lower contact bolt 23 (see fig. 7.33) the traction relay of a starter and disconnect from it a stator winding conclusion. Turn off nuts of fastening of the traction relay and remove it, having taken out a shaft of an anchor 14 of a lever 11 groove.

Unscrew screws of fastening and remove the protection cover 8 (fig. 7.35).
2. Unscrew screws of fastening of conclusions of a winding of the stator to brush holders, remove springs 7 and brushes 6.
3. Remove from an anchor shaft a lock ring 9, an adjusting washer 10 and a flat washer.
4. Turn out coupling bolts 12 and disconnect the case 11 with a cover 5 from a cover 1 with an anchor 13 and the drive.
5. Take out a cap 2 of an opening of a cover 1, a rasshplintuyta and take out a lever axis 3 drives of a starter, take out from a cover the lever and an anchor 13 with the drive.
6. Shift towards the drive a restrictive ring 16 and remove the released lock ring from an anchor shaft. Then remove a restrictive ring and the drive from an anchor shaft.
If necessary the drive is disassembled, having removed a lock washer from a nave of the obgonny coupling.
For dismantling of the traction relay turn off nuts of coupling bolts of the relay, unsolder conclusions of windings from the plug "50" and from the tip fixed on the lower contact bolt 23 (see fig. 7.33), uncover 22 relays and separate a forward flange 15 with the core. Then take out a rod of the 18th anchor from the core.
After dismantling blow starter details compressed air and wipe.
Check of technical condition and repair of details and knots 
Check technical condition and repair details and knots of a starter 35.3708 the same as details and knots of a starter 421.3708 331 (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment"). Distinction only in the device of collector knot – brushes replace at wear up to the height of 12 mm, and the effort of their pressing has to be (9,8±0,98) N.
Assembly and adjustment of a starter
Before assembly oil engine screw vents of a shaft of an anchor and a nave of the coupling, plug of both covers and a gear wheel, Litol-24 lubricant – a flood ring of the drive.
Prior to assembly check an axial free wheeling of a shaft of an anchor, previously having gathered covers, the case, an anchor and having tightened coupling bolts. At the same time the anchor can be without drive, and a cover 1 (see fig. 7.35) – without lever. The axial free wheeling of a shaft has to be no more than 0,5 mm. The free wheeling is regulated selection of thickness of an adjusting washer 10.
Having picked up an adjusting washer, collect a starter as it should be, the return to dismantling.

       PREVENTION
Do not forget to put on a plastic tube 14 the coupling bolt passing under the tire of seriyesny coils of the stator.

System of ignition of the engine of fashion. 2106
Features of a design
The engine is equipped with contact (classical) system of ignition with the distributor of ignition 30.3706 equipped with the mechanical breaker.

The system of ignition battery, rated voltage in primary chain of 12 V, consists of the coil of ignition of 9 (fig. 7.36), the distributor 8, spark plugs 7, the switch (lock) of ignition 1 and wires of chains of low and high voltage.
For decrease in level of the radio noise created by system of ignition during the work high-voltage wires with a resistance distributed on length are installed on the engine.

The breaker consists of a cam of 22 (fig. 7.37) with four ledges and are resistant 24 with contacts which the cam disconnects at rotation. The cam is oiled by the felt fillets 9 impregnated. To a rack of a priklepan an axis on which via the textolite plug the rychazhok 23 with the contact pressed by a lamellar spring to contact of a rack is established.
The basic plate of the 19th centrifugal regulator of an advancing of ignition is soldered to the top end of the plug of a cam. To a plate of a priklepana of an axis of ceramic-metal small weights 20 and racks of their ottyazhny springs. Other end ottyazhny springs fasten to racks, priklepanny to a plate of the 10th centrifugal regulator. During the operation of the engine under the influence of centrifugal forces small weights disperse, rest against a plate 19 and, overcoming resistance of springs, turn a plate 10 (and consequently, and a cam 22) clockwise concerning the ignition distributor roller.
The vacuum regulator of an advancing of ignition consists of the case 4 with a cover 6 between which the flexible diaphragm 5 is clamped. On the one hand draft 7 is attached to a diaphragm, with another there is a spring which is wringing out a diaphragm with draft in the direction of rotation of a cam 22. Under the influence of the depression transferred on the pipeline from an inlet pipe of the engine, the diaphragm is bent and through draft turns a plate with contacts of the breaker counterclockwise.
The distributor consists of a rotor 11 and the electrodes 12 established in a plastic cover 13. To a priklepana rotor central 16 and external the 18th contacts between which in special deepening there is a resistor 17 for suppression of a radio noise. The sprung coal electrode 15 transferring impulses of high voltage from the ignition coil to a rotor rests against the central contact of a rotor. At rotation of a rotor impulses are transferred through an air interval from external contact 18 to side electrodes in a cover and further to spark plugs.

Control checks
At the stand you carry out control inspections the same as for the distributor 47.3706 engines of fashion. 331 (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment"). Only the effort of pressing of contacts which has to be 4,9–5,88 N (0,49–0,59 kgfs) differs.
Verification of characteristics of the distributor of ignition
Characteristics of centrifugal and vacuum regulators check the same as for the distributor 47.3706 engines of fashion. 331 (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment").

Compare the received characteristic of the centrifugal regulator of an advancing of ignition with the characteristic in fig. 7.38, and vacuum – with the characteristic in fig. 7.39.
Pay attention to the clearness of a reset after removal of depression of a mobile plate 26 (see fig. 7.37) the breaker.
Check and adjustment of the corner of the closed condition of contacts (CCCC)
Check a corner of the closed condition of contacts, and also an asynchronism of sparking and regulate the same as 47.3706 engines of fashion are described for the distributor. 331 (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment"). UZSK has to be (55±3) °, an asynchronism ±1 °.
Check of resistance of isolation
Check isolation resistance between various plugs and "weight" the megohm meter. Measure resistance between the low-voltage plug of the breaker and "weight" at the opened contacts of the breaker. Isolation resistance at (25±5) °C has to be not less than 10 megohms.
Check of the condenser
The condenser capacity measured in the frequency range between 50 and 1000 Hz has to be in limits 0,20–0,25 мкФ.
Dismantling of the distributor of ignition
1. Uncover 13 (see fig. 7.37) if it was not removed at dismantle of the distributor from the engine.
2. Unscrew two screws of fastening of a rotor of the 11th distributor to a basic plate of the 10th centrifugal regulator of an advancing of ignition and remove a rotor.
3. Mark in any way of a spring of the centrifugal regulator of an advancing of ignition and small weights 20 that at assembly to put them on former places.
4. Remove springs of the centrifugal regulator, having hooked them the screw-driver.
5. Holding from below distributor cases a nut on the screw 34 of a terminal clip, turn off a nut of fastening of tips of a wire of the condenser and a wire 2 going from the ignition coil (if it was not disconnected at removal of the distributor from the car), and remove wires from the screw 34.
6. Unscrew the screw of fastening of the condenser 27 to the case 28 of the distributor and remove the condenser.
7. Unscrew the screw 34, holding at the same time a nut, and take out it from a distributor case opening, remove the isolating pro-rate and washers: spring and flat (isolating and metal).
8. Unscrew two screws 33 fastenings of a rack 24 contact groups to a mobile plate of the 26th breaker and remove contact group.
9. If necessary sort contact group: remove lock and flat isolating washers from axis 21; wring out the screw-driver the isolating washer of a lamellar spring of mobile contact and remove mobile contact from axis 21.
10. Remove a lock washer of fastening of draft of the 7th vacuum regulator from a pin on a mobile plate of the 26th breaker and, having hooked the screw-driver, remove draft from a pin.
11. Unscrew two screws of fastening of the case of the vacuum regulator to the case of the distributor and remove the regulator.
12. Vypressuyte a pin of fastening of the maslootrazhatelny coupling 29 of the roller of 1 distributor, remove the coupling and the flat washer established under it.
13. Take out the roller 1 of the distributor case.
14. Unscrew two screws of fastening of a mobile plate of the 26th breaker, remove spring washers, take out tweezers lock plates and take from the distributor case a mobile plate with the bearing.
15. Vypressuyte the bearing (plug) from a distributor case shaft if its replacement is required.
Definition of technical condition of details of the distributor
Check a condition of the roller of the distributor. In the place of contact of the roller with the bearing (plug) there should not be traces of visible wear. Considerable wear of cams of the roller is not allowed.
Check a condition of a diaphragm of the vacuum regulator of a corner of an advancing of ignition, having drowned draft 7 and having closed a finger an opening of a branch pipe 8 (draft has to be kept by a diaphragm in the drowned state).
Contacts of the breaker should not have pollution, traces of burning and an erosion. Smooth out the damaged contacts the velvet file which was not applied to other purposes. Do not use any abrasive materials for cleaning of contacts: existence on contacts of particles of other metals or an abrasive will inevitably lead to their bystry obgoraniye. After cleaning wash out contacts by gasoline or alcohol.

       PREVENTION
When cleaning delete only a hillock on contact of a rack of the breaker. It is not recommended to remove completely a crater (deepening) on contact a breaker rychazhka in order to avoid removal of a tungsten layer.

Assembly
Collect the distributor as it should be, the return to dismantling, taking into account the following:
press new bearings (plug) on a manual or pneumatic press, using mandrels of suitable diameter;
before assembly of the roller of the distributor, an axis of small weights of the centrifugal regulator, a surface of small weights grease with Litol-24 lubricant.
After assembly of the distributor dig 4–5 drops of engine oil in a distributor butterdish, 2–3 drops – on фильц a cam, check and adjust the distributor at the stand.
Adjustment of the distributor of ignition
Adjust a corner of the closed condition of contacts as it was described above. In the absence of the stand check the flat probe and adjust a gap between contacts of the breaker of 0,35-0,45 mm.
For adjustment of a gap execute the following.
1. Turn the distributor roller so that the breaker cam completely opened contacts (the textolite pillow of mobile contact has to lean on cam top).
2. Weaken an inhaling of screws 33 (see fig. 7.37).
3. Insert the screw-driver into a groove of a contact rack 24 and, moving a rack, increase or reduce a gap between contacts.
4. Tighten screws 33 and again check a gap.
Consider that adjustment of a gap between contacts in essence represents restoration of a corner of the closed condition of contacts on an indirect sign which the gap is. At the same time it is supposed that contacts are in perfect tune. In operation they are deformed, and adjustment of a gap practically never leads to restoration of an optimum angle of the closed condition of contacts. Therefore we recommend after installation of the distributor for the engine (see below) to adjust this corner by means of the automobile testers which are available on sale.

       PREVENTION
After adjustment of a gap (a corner of the closed state) on the engine installation of the initial moment of ignition which is required to be restored inevitably changes.

Installation of the distributor on the engine
Installation of the distributor on the engine of fashion. 2106 it is described earlier, in the course of assembly of the engine (see. "Engine of fashion. 2106").
After installation of the distributor determine the initial moment of ignition.
Check and installation of the initial moment of ignition
Most simply it is also precisely possible to check and determine the initial moment of ignition by means of a stroboscope:
1. Connect a stroboscope on the car according to the instruction attached to it (stroboscopes of different types connect differently).

2. Launch the engine and on the mode of idling direct the blinking stroboscope light to adjusting tags on a pulley of a bent shaft and a cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see fig. 2.53). Because of stroboscopic effect the tag on a pulley seems motionless. If the initial moment of ignition is determined correctly, the tag 4 on a pulley coincides with a tag 2 on a drive cover.

       NOTE
The tag 4 on a pulley, executed in casting, is practically not visible on the engine installed on the car. Therefore it is duplicated by the notch located against it on the edge of a pulley stream.

3. For adjustment of the initial moment of ignition weaken fastening of the distributor and turn its case in the necessary party until combination of tags 4 and 2.

       PREVENTION
Be careful, determining the ignition moment on the working engine as all rotating engine details in flickering light of a stroboscope seem motionless or slowly moving.

4. Delay fastening of the distributor and double-check installation of the initial moment of ignition.
In the absence of a stroboscope the initial moment of ignition can be determined on the idle engine by means of a control lamp, for example to any low-power automobile to which contacts it is necessary in any way to attach pieces of wires:
1. Turn out a spark plug of the fourth cylinder and densely muffle a candle opening a paper stopper.
2. Slowly rotate a bent shaft for a bolt of fastening of a pulley until the beginning of a step of compression in the fourth cylinder that determine by pushing out of a paper stopper from a candle opening.
3. Continuing to rotate a bent shaft in the same direction, combine a tag 4 (see fig. 2.53) on a pulley of a bent shaft with a tag 2 on a cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
4. Screw a spark plug of the fourth cylinder and attach a control lamp one wire to "weight", another – to the ignition coil conclusion connected to the low-voltage plug of the distributor.
5. Uncover the distributor, weaken a nut of fastening of the plate fixing the distributor in a nest of the block of cylinders and, having included ignition (the control lamp will light up), turn the distributor case clockwise till the moment when the control lamp goes out.
6. Slightly drawing in a finger a rotor counterclockwise, turn the distributor case in the same direction until fire of a control lamp (the moment of the beginning of disconnection of contacts). Enshrine the distributor in this provision, establish its cover into place and disconnect a control lamp.

The B117-A coil representing the high-frequency transformer, oil-filled, non-demountable is also calculated on long service life. In a normal operating mode high voltage on a conclusion of 9 (fig. 7.40) reaches 25 kV.
Check of technical condition
The serviceable coil of ignition has to meet the following requirements:
resistance of primary winding at 20 °C has to make 3,07–3,5 Ohms, a secondary winding – 5400–9200 Ohms;
when checking firmness of isolation on breakdown the coil of ignition has to maintain, without causing categories, tension of the alternating current of 1500 V, 50 Hz given within 3 min. between one end of primary winding and the case;
isolation resistance at short circuit on "weight" has to be higher or 50 megohms are equal.

On the engine of fashion. 2106 establish candles of A17DV-10 or RM14-225/2A (fig. 7.41). On a design they are almost similar to candles of A20D1 of the engine of fashion. 331 (see. "Model 21261-020 car electric equipment") also differ from them in kalilny number.
If there are interruptions in ignition, especially in one or several cylinders, check a condition of candles.
Or polluted clear spark plugs with a deposit on the sanding device.
If a deposit of light brown color, it can be not deleted as it is a sign of serviceability of the engine and does not break work of system of ignition.
After cleaning examine candles and adjust a gap between electrodes. If on the insulator there are chips, cracks or welding of a side electrode is damaged, replace a candle.
Check a gap of 0,5-0,6 mm between electrodes of a candle the round wire probe. It is impossible to check a gap the flat probe as at the same time dredging on a side electrode which is formed during the work of a candle is not considered.
At the stand of a candle A17DV-10 check the same as candles of A20D1 of the engine of fashion. 331.

       PREVENTION
The gap can be regulated a podgibaniye only of a side electrode of a candle. The central electrode is forbidden to be turned in – it is possible to break the ceramic insulator.
